Nintendo Switch charging port repair in Baton Rouge.

Switch charging port repair in Baton Rouge - charges only at an angle, won't dock, or won't charge at all. The soldered USB-C port replaced by microsoldering. Firm quote, warranty terms in writing.

257 Lee Dr Ste V, Baton Rouge, LA 70808 - Walk-ins welcome

How it works

It only charges if the cable sits at one exact angle. Or it stopped docking, so the TV picture is gone too. Or it simply will not charge, and now it will not turn on either. On the Switch, the charging port does double duty - power in, picture out to the dock - and it is soldered to the main board, so a worn or damaged port is board work, not a part swap. Cables, docks, and batteries can imitate a bad port, which is why we test those first and only quote the port when the port is proven to be the fault.

What is included

  • Charging fault diagnosis that rules out cable, dock, and battery before blaming the port
  • Damaged USB-C port removed from the main board
  • New port microsoldered in place under magnification
  • Charge and docked picture both tested before the console goes home
  • Switch and Switch OLED taken in; the Lite checked the same way
  • Your warranty terms in your hand, in writing, before payment
Firm quote firstDiagnosis first, then one firm quote. We do not start work until you approve it.
Warranty in writingYour repair's warranty terms are on the ticket, in writing, before you pay.
No fix, no chargeIf we cannot bring it back, you owe nothing for the repair.
One port, two jobsThe same port charges the Switch and feeds the dock. A port fault can look like a charging problem, a docking problem, or both.

Questions about this repair

Answered the way we would answer you standing at the counter.

It charges if I hold the cable just right. Is that the port?

Very likely. Needing a special angle means the cable is not seating fully - either the port's pins are worn or bent, or something is packed inside it. The check tells us which; a port that needs replacing gets quoted as the board work it is.

My Switch won't show on the TV in the dock anymore.

Docked picture runs through the same USB-C port, so a port fault can end the TV picture while handheld play still works. We test the dock and the cable too, so the quote lands on the part that is actually failing.

Could it just be the battery?

It could - a battery at the end of its life can look a lot like a charging problem. That is exactly what the diagnosis separates: port, battery, or charging circuit. You only pay to fix the one that is broken.

Is port replacement really soldering work?

On the Switch, yes. The USB-C port is soldered to the main board, so the old port comes off and the new one is microsoldered on under a microscope.

How long will you have it?

It follows the diagnosis and the part. At check-in you get a firm quote and a date - and if the console cannot be fixed, there is no charge for the repair.
